John McEnroe Tennis Academy
Setting the Standard for Junior Player Development
The John McEnroe Tennis Academy boasts players that have won titles at the sectional, national, intercollegiate and international levels, as well as thousands who have reached their potential at all levels of play. Every JMTA session features positive, encouraging coaching in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
The John McEnroe Tennis Academy develops complete tennis players: technically and tactically sound, and smarter, stronger, fitter and faster. Our team of tennis, athletic training and mental toughness directors and coaches know and understand where JMTA students are developmentally, where they need to go to maximize performance, and how they are going to get there.
JMTA’s coaching is positive, encouraging, motivating and challenging. We believe that when kids are motivated and encouraged, good things happen. Our students work hard and are held to a high standard of attitude and effort, on and off-court. We know that self-confidence and commitment are absolutely essential in building a successful competitive player in an individual sport.
Featured John McEnroe Tennis Academy Programs
Ages 5 - 8
JMTA MAC Red Ball
The first stage of our JMTA Pathway is designed for young players just starting to play the game. Using the appropriate sized Red Court (36’) and ball (low compression red), JMTA MAC Red One players learn to serve, rally and score on the Red Court over a lower net.
Ages 7 - 10
JMTA MAC Orange Ball
Players transition to the larger Orange Court (60’) and the full-sized net, using both red balls and orange balls that move faster and bounce higher, making tracking and movement more challenging.
Ages 9+
JMTA Green Ball
We focus on sound patterns of play and strong technical foundations, with an emphasis placed on the physical demands of advanced play. Competitive skills are refined as players mature.
Ages 9 - 17
JMTA Yellow Ball
The final stage of the JMTA pathway, Yellow Ball players begin to master patterns and to more fully understand their own strengths and weaknesses.
